The members of “Twenty” urge the U.S. to ratify the decision on the reform of the International monetary Fund. In their opinion, the adoption of reforms, the IMF remains a critical priority to ensure the Fund’s credibility.

MOSCOW, 15 Nov. The members of “Twenty” deeply disappointed by the postponement of the IMF reforms, they urge the U.S. to ratify them as soon as possible, reported Reuters citing a draft communique.

Earlier, the leaders of the BRICS countries also expressed their disappointment at the lack of progress in modernising the international financial institutions, including the IMF. They noted that the adoption of the IMF reforms “remains an important priority to ensure the Fund’s credibility, legitimacy and effectiveness”, and called on the USA in the nearest time to ratify the decision to conduct these reforms.

The summit of leaders of the countries “Big twenty” was launched on 15 November in the resort town of Belek Antalya province, Turkey. Despite the fact that initially he is devoted to supporting global growth, the attention of its participants were largely drawn to the recent terrorist attacks in Paris that claimed the lives of over 120 people.
