Gazprom and CNPC discuss gas delivery to China from the Far East


Currently discussions are also under construction in China’s underground gas storages (UGS), as well as projects in the power sector, said the head of “Gazprom” Alexey Miller.

ANTALYA, 16 Nov. Gazprom and China’s CNPC have already formed a working group to discuss Russian gas supplies to China from the Far East, will soon begin to discuss the parameters of the project, told reporters the head of “Gazprom” Alexey Miller.

“A working group at the level of Gazprom and CNPC, and prepared a work plan for the group. In accordance with this plan in the near future jointly with our Chinese partners to provide answers to questions such as the volume of gas supplies from regions of the Russian Far East, the transition point and the timing of the start of deliveries”, — said the head of “Gazprom”.

According to him, currently discussions are also under construction in China’s underground gas storages (UGS), as well as projects in the power sector.

Russia and China signed a Memorandum on gas supplies to China from the Far East of the Russian Federation in September 2015. It is expected that it will be delivered by pipeline, the resource base will be deposits of Sakhalin.

Currently Gazprom has already started the construction of the gas pipeline “Power of Siberia” for gas transportation to China via the Eastern route, also held talks on the construction of the pipeline “Power of Siberia-2” — Western route through Altai.
