Russia and Japan to step up trade cooperation

Moscow. November 16. Russia intends to intensify business cooperation with Japan, said the Minister of economic development Alexei Ulyukayev reporters Monday in Manila following the meeting with the Minister of economy, trade and industry of Japan, Hayashi Motoo in the framework of the Ministerial conference of APEC.

“As for the meeting with my Japanese colleague, it was our first meeting, so she wore such a General, framework nature. We discussed their mutual interest to promote trade, investment cooperation, which has experienced some decline in recent years”, – commented the meeting the speaker.

According to him, now the parties have intensified already existing formats of cooperation. “We had a meeting with the sub-Commission, which is chaired by the Minister for trade, industry and investment. Conducted an intergovernmental Commission, held a meeting on modernization of economy”, – said the Russian Minister.

“This is quite a good potential, which can be converted into a real increase in turnover,” he added.
