MOSCOW, Nov 17. Julia Petrovich. Growth of economy of the Ulyanovsk region in recent years every year is 4-5%, said the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov at the plenary session of the forum “Smart city of the future”, held Wednesday in MIA “Russia today”.

“We are proud of the great economic success of our region. Neither in the past nor last nor this year we have not had a recession of economic development. We traditionally grow in the range of 4-5% and actively attract investments”, — said Morozov.

According to the Governor, only in 2015 in the Ulyanovsk region was discovered about 10 companies. For the last 10 years in the region, which has great natural resources, we have built more than 70 new businesses.

“In our portfolio we have about 300 companies. In 2016 we plan to Commission seven large factories, among which Bridgestone and Legrand,” added Morozov.

According to him, in addition to Ulyanovsk, great economic prospects and Dimitrovgrad with a population of about 120 thousand people. “In one of the projects in this city we put together with the Federal government 100 billion rubles of investments. And such projects in the city quite a lot,” said the Governor.

International forum “Smart city of the future” organized by MIA “Russia today”. The forum participants discuss models of urban growth, issues of transformation of urban areas, interaction between government, business and citizens in city governance, energy efficiency in housing and communal services, transportation systems, barrier-free urban environment, development of social and environmental responsibility. A key objective of the event was the demonstration of the status and assessment of prospects of innovative development of cities.
