Putin will take the Deputy Chairman of the Central military Commission of the PRC

MOSCOW, November 17. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday will accept the Deputy Chairman of the Central military Commission of China Xu Zilyana. This was reported to journalists the press Secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov.

He added that the President will also meet with Governor of Samara region Nikolay Merkushkin and the head of the Vologda region Oleg Kuvshinnikov.

Previously, Xu Qiliang met with Putin in the Moscow residence of the President in Novo-Ogarevo in October 2013. Details of the talks was not reported.

Colonel-General Xu Qiliang deals with the Chinese side, including questions of military and military-technical cooperation with Russia. Xu Qiliang became the Deputy head of HTC China in March 2013 at the age of 63. He is a native of Eastern Shandong province, member of CPC since 1967. In 2004-2007 he was Deputy chief of the General staff of the people’s liberation army of China, and from 2007 to 2012 he commanded the Chinese air force. A member of the Military Council of the CPC Central Committee since 2007.

In his new post, Xu Qiliang has held several meetings with government leaders, including the presidents of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and the then President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych (both in 2013).
