Red Wings talks with leasing companies regarding the operation of the Tu-214 “Transaero”

MOSCOW, November 16. The Red Wings airline is holding talks with leasing companies regarding the operation of Tu-214, located in the Park of airline “Transaero”. This was stated to journalists the General Director of airline Evgeny Klyucharev.

“Now we are negotiating with leasing companies on transferring the operation of Tu-214,” said he, adding that we are talking about three planes “Transaero”.

The airline “Transaero” is the second largest airline in Russia and the main Charter carrier with the deterioration of the economic situation in the country and the increase in the exchange rate began to experience financial difficulties. The company has been unable to provide its activity and to repay the debt. The government originally discussed the option of selling 75% stake of the airline “Aeroflot”, expecting that the largest carrier will be able to improve the company. However, the holders of shares of Transaero airlines at the time did not collect the stake and pulled the offer. Eventually, the company went to bankruptcy: banks are pessimistic about the return of its funds. The carrier itself has lost the certificate of the operator and does not fly.

The Red Wings fleet consists of the aircrafts of a domestic production: eight Tu-204 and five Sukhoi Superjet-100 (SSJ-100). In 2016 the company plans to lease five more SSJ-100.
