According to the study, the number of employed people decreased by 500 thousand people, or 0.7%, the number of unemployed increased by 310 thousand people.
MOSCOW, Nov 17. The number of unemployed in Russia increased by 8% compared with October last year, according to a study released by Rosstat.
“Compared with October 2014 the number of employed people (without the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol) decreased by 500 thousand people, or 0.7%, the number of unemployed increased by 310 thousand, or 8.0%,” — said in the study.
According to Rosstat, the number of economically active population aged 15-72 years including employed and unemployed in October 2015 was 76.8 million people (53% of the total population of the country). Of these, 72,5 million classified as engaged in economic activity and $ 4.3 million as the unemployed with application of criteria of the International labour organization (had no job or gainful employment, looking for work and were ready to start surveyed in week).
