The order of admission of refugees through Russia to Norway Murmansk region is not tightened

MURMANSK, November 16. /Corr. Sophia Anufrieva/. The FSB has not introduced additional security measures at the Russian-Norwegian border in the Murmansk region due to the terrorist attacks in Paris. This was reported by press Secretary of the Border Department of the FSB of Russia in the Republic of Karelia Denis Rossolinski. “Additional security measures due to terrorist attacks in Paris had not been introduced”, – he noted.

Citizens from the countries of the Middle East, arriving in Murmansk region for crossing the Russian-Norwegian border, called the Northern route via Russia is the cheapest and shortest route to Europe.

As previously reported in the press service of border guard of FSB across Kareliya, the massive flow of refugees in the Murmansk region began in the summer, every month there arrived more than 100 people. In September the border at the checkpoint “Borisoglebsk” crossed 293 refugee, in October, their numbers grew. A record number of citizens from countries in the Middle East has crossed the Russian-Norwegian border in the Murmansk region on 4 November, national unity Day, – 196.

Expedited procedures to pass

“We let refugees across the border in an expedited manner. Now the refugees became much less than it was in previous weeks. The tense situation that was in connection with the occurrence of queues at the checkpoint, now resolved, and such a rush at the border, in principle, no,” he said. As explained Rogalinski, the composition of refugees has changed, fewer citizens now more than half are natives of Afghanistan, the citizens of Iran, Iraq and other Arab countries.

In the administration of the border of the Pechenga district of the Murmansk region noted that in recent years mainly among heading to Norway – lonely young people, whereas previously the Syrians were traveling with a large family.

The migration method has not changed. Foreigners arrive in Murmansk on planes and trains, to taxi get in the Pechenga area and after some time cross the border with Norway. Refugees are legal documents for entry into Russia of them in order, mostly tourist or student visa.

A series of terrorist attacks in France

A series of terrorist attacks occurred on the night of 14 November in Paris. In the concert hall Bataclan, the unknown took hostages. Attacks made seven terrorists, six of whom blew himself up with belts of explosives. Another was killed by police.

According to the latest data, as a result of attacks of terrorists killed 129 people, and about 350 were injured.

In connection with the incident, President Francois Hollande announced the introduction in the country of state of emergency and the introduction of intensified control of crossing the state borders. He later stated that the responsibility for the attack bears the terrorist group “Islamic state” (banned in Russia).

Hollande also called on the citizens to unite at this difficult time. “We must show solidarity and unity. France needs to be strong,” – said the head of state.
