Medvedev said about the stability of the Russian economy


Moscow. November 18. The situation in the Russian economy is stable enough, Russia managed to cope with fluctuating global oil prices, said Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.

“The situation in the economy and financial system is quite stable, we cope with negative price fluctuations and keep the interest of investors”, – said Medvedev, addressing the participants of the APEC CEO summit on Wednesday.

However, Medvedev admitted that “today Russia, along with part of the world goes through a difficult period, and for Russia it can be one of the most difficult”.

“For us it is serious crucial that collapsed oil prices fell sharply, the ruble. Plus one and a half years, our country is facing the pressure of sanctions, which, of course, does not improve the economic situation,” he said.

At the same time, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation noted that “the majority of foreign companies operating in the country, this attitude (on here) trying to save”.

He added that “in addition to the negative factors for foreign investors was formed, obviously, and some positive aspects”.

“Obviously, they are not all like in our country, but for foreign investors it’s not bad. I mean, first of all, the weakening of the ruble and the opportunity to purchase Russian assets cheaper than some time ago,” Medvedev said.
