The collapse of oil has stalled the negotiations “Gazprom” with China via the Western route

Moscow. November 18. The statement of a management “Gazprom” that the base agreement on the Eastern route of Russian gas supplies to China will quickly agree on the “West”, have not received confirmation – parties need to find a new model of cooperation after the collapse of world oil prices.

As stated in the Protocol of the 19th session of the intergovernmental Russian-Chinese Commission for energy cooperation, the parties are satisfied with the signing of the Agreement on the basic conditions of gas supplies from Russia to China via the Western route (signed on 8 may this year, Gazprom and CNPC (CNPC)) and the earlier negotiations.

“The parties support the continuation of intensive consultations between JSC “Gazprom” and CNPC to update the model of cooperation in the new economic environment and early achievement of the agreements”, – is spoken further in the Protocol.
