The number of foreign tourists in Japan in October jumped to a record


Moscow. November 18. The number of foreign tourists visiting Japan in October 2015 rose to a record for that month of the year level, the number of Chinese tourists jumped twice, according to the Agency Bloomberg with reference to data of the National tourism Agency of Japan (JNTO).

In total, the number of foreign tourists in October increased by 44% compared with the same month in 2014 to 1.8 million people.

The number of Chinese visiting Japan, reached last month 445,6 thousand, since the beginning of 2015 it is 4.3 million people.

The number of South Koreans who visited Japan in October amounted to 378 thousand people, of Canadians – 22%, a record high.

The increased inflow of tourists to Japan is facilitated by the easing of visa restrictions, as well as the weakening of the yen against the U.S. dollar and other world currencies.

The Japanese government expects that by 2020, when Tokyo will host the Olympic games, the influx of foreign tourists to the country will reach 20 million.

For 10 months of 2015 visited Japan a total of 16.3 million foreign tourists.
