Weekly inflation in Russia slowed to 0.1%

Moscow. November 18. Inflation in Russia for the week from 10 to 16 November slowed further to 0.1%, said Wednesday Rosstat. Earlier for five consecutive weeks prices gained 0.2% after two weeks of growth seen at 0.1%.

From the beginning of November to 16 of November prices rose by 0.4%, YTD growth of prices amounted to 11.7%.

The average increase in prices since the beginning of November amounted to 0,024%, which corresponds to October 2015 (0,024%), but lower than in November 2014 (0,042%). Overall for November 2014, the price growth amounted to 1.3%.

As previously reported by Rosstat, inflation in October was 0.7% after 0.6% in September. In annual terms inflation in October fell to 15.6% from 15.7% in September.

Based on the data of Rosstat, inflation in annual expression as of 16 November of the current year could be reduced to 15.3% compared to 15.6% at the end of October (or even to 15.2%, depending on rounding).

Last year from the beginning of November prices rose by 17 November by 0.7% from the beginning of the year – by 7.9%.

Over the past week, prices for chicken eggs rose by 1.2%, sterilized milk, margarine, butter, sunflower oil, caramel – 0.4 to 0.5%. At the same time fell pork, lamb, chicken, millet, sugar – on 0,2-0,4%.

The growth of prices for fruit and vegetables on average amounted to 0.3%, including cucumbers and cabbage – 3.7% and 3.0%, respectively, tomatoes – 0.4 per cent. At the same time, potatoes, carrots, apples became cheaper on 0,3-0,5%.

As reported, the Ministry of economic development raised expectations for inflation in 2015, admits, as the Central Bank that inflation may reach 13%.

The consensus forecast prepared by Interfax at the end of October, is 12.6%.
