Sakhalin require 3 billion rubles for the resettlement of people from unpromising villages

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, November 18. /Corr. Irina Baibarza/. More than 100 settlements of Sakhalin belong to the category of unpromising villages, to resettle the population will be 3 billion rubles, said at a meeting of the regional Duma, the Minister of construction of the region Vladimir zalesny.

“Today in the region to the category of unpromising villages are 107 settlements. 34 villages which have no permanent residents. 32 is home to 20 residents; a 17 – to 50 persons; in the 24 to 100. According to preliminary estimates, in these settlements has a population of about 1 thousand families. Their resettlement will require 3 billion rubles”, – said the Minister.

According to him, the resettlement work in the field is currently suspended due to lack of regulatory framework. It is planned that the regional law that would clarify the concepts of unpromising villages and the criteria by which settlements belong to this category, will be developed and adopted in 2016. After that will be adopted the program for the resettlement and pledged funding.

Zelazny explained that the experience of resettlement of people from unpromising villages, formalized by law, is only in the Magadan region. There were in 2003-2007. The population was allocated subsidies for housing and transportation costs. Sakhalin authorities plan to build on those experiences.
