The Russian Federation proposed to organize the BRICS monitoring of payments for power resources in national currencies

Moscow. November 20. The head of the Russian Ministry of energy Alexander Novak proposed to organize in the framework of cooperation of the BRICS countries monitoring opportunities of using national currencies in settlements for energy supplies.

According to him, such monitoring is not only of interest for the development of national currencies, but also to reduce dependence on intermediate currencies and means of payment for energy resources.

“Russia has already organized mutual payments for energy supplies in local currencies with its immediate neighbors, I think this practice could be expanded,” the Minister said at the forum ENES.
