MOSCOW, November 19. In Syria, destroyed 160 of gunmen is prohibited in the Russian Federation the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG), having citizenship of Russia. This was stated by Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on counteraction to terrorism Oleg Syromolotov at the meeting of the Club of friends of the Gorchakov Fund.
“At the moment under the banner of fighting ISIS more than 25 thousand foreign terrorists, including from Arab countries, Europe, Russia and CIS, said Syromolotov. From Russia went to Syria 2719 Russian citizens, 160 of them have been destroyed, 73 returned and convicted, another 36 are under arrest.”
The attack by a Russian plane in Egypt underscores the need to unite international efforts for the suppression of terrorism, the diplomat said. “We consider this barbaric attack on our citizens in the context of a series of bloody terrorist attacks committed recently in Paris, Beirut, Iraq, Turkey and Egypt, he said. – The competent authorities of the Russian Federation has started the search for the perpetrators of the tragedy with the Russian aircraft. This work will continue as long until all involved will not be detected and will not incur the deserved punishment, wherever they are located.”

Putin: Russia will find terrorists anywhere in the world and will punish
Syromolotov has reminded that Moscow appealed to all States, organizations, individuals, friends and partners with a request to provide assistance in finding the perpetrators and bringing them to justice. “In the circumstances Russia will follow article 51 of the UN Charter providing for the right of States to self-defence, – continued the Deputy Minister. – Believe that the incident clearly demonstrates the need to rally the international community’s efforts to suppress global terrorist threat on the basis of norms and principles of international law, the UN Charter, without politicization or double standards, in the framework of a broad anti-terrorist front against the “Islamic state””. Russia confirms its readiness “to deepen anti-terrorism cooperation at both the political level and through intelligence,” he said.

“The ISIL (the former name of the grouping “Islamic state” – approx.) have been active and aggressive propaganda campaign in the spirit of modern “pop culture” to recruit foreign fighters-terrorists using scenes from movies and video games, which are skilfully focused on young people,” – said at the meeting in Sochi the 7th regional conference of the international Association of prosecutors for Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia head of Department on supervision of execution of laws on Federal security, interethnic relations and countering extremism and terrorism of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yury Khokhlov.
“For Russian-speaking audience extremists use the communication potential of social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, “Vkontakte”, where a different number of pages in order to recruit new supporters to swell the ranks of militants and terrorists and their supporters. According to the requirements of the Prosecutor General, such resources are blocked”, – he stressed.
Khokhlov added that since the extremists attach great importance to propaganda work, “therefore, our response must be adequate to these threats, especially when it comes to protecting youth from the harmful influence of a hostile ideology”. The representative of the Prosecutor General’s office noted that “almost all terrorist organizations have their websites on which information is posted in several languages”. The number of such sites in the thousands, and among them a large number of Russian-speaking.
