The idea of a possible merger of the two Supervisory bodies was discussed at the end of October. On Friday Deputy Prime Minister for social policies Olga Golodets said that this is no solution.
MOSCOW, 20 Nov. Decision on the possibility of a merger of the Rosselkhoznadzor and Rospotrebnadzor no, said Friday the Vice-Prime Minister on social policy Olga Golodets.
“No solution”, — she answered a question of journalists.
The question of a possible merger of the two oversight agencies — the Federal service for veterinary and phytosanitary surveillance and Federal service for supervision in the sphere of protection of consumer rights — began to be discussed at the end of October. The assistant head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Alexei Alekseyenko told reporters that “the decision to merge the services”, the details are still being worked out, and the whole process may take at least a year.
At the same time, the Minister for open government Mikhail Abyzov has denied allegations that the decision to merge the two agencies. Later, the Rosselkhoznadzor after Abyzov also denied the information about the merger, stating that “the decision to create such a (single) service, its structure and functions by the government of the Russian Federation was not accepted”.
