Medvedev: to fight terrorism, we need to coordinate political and military efforts

KUALA LUMPUR, November 22. The terrorist attack in Mali demonstrates that terrorism has no borders and to fight with him, coordinating political and military efforts. This was stated by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev during the meeting with UN Secretary General ban Ki-moon.

Medvedev: fight against terrorism is possible through coordination of all forces based on the UN

The Russian Prime Minister stressed the need to combine efforts. “This should be done in close coordination and trying to coordinate those efforts, both political and military, undertaken by States affected by terrorism,” he said, noting that this fully applies to our country.

Medvedev stressed that the fight against terrorism has become crucial in the discussion on Sunday on the sidelines of the East Asia summit. According to the Prime Minister, it would be very useful to exchange ideas about it with the UN Secretary General.

In the framework of bilateral talks, Medvedev shared with ban Ki-moon his thoughts on the last summit, noting that they (the summits) every year become “more meaningful, more productive”. According to him, the presence at the summit of the UN Secretary-General attaches to this meeting of General significance.
