LONDON, November 24. /Corr. Igor Brovarnik/. British budget airline Easyjet will run flights to the Egyptian resort of Sharm-El-Sheikh until 6 January 2016. This was reported by the press service of the carrier.
“We apologize for the inconvenience, but we hope that the transparency of our actions in the moment will enable our customers with greater certainty in adjusting their plans”, – stated in the message of the airline.
Easyjet had previously suspended the operation of flights between the UK and Sharm El-Sheikh after the collapse of the Russian aircraft on the Sinai Peninsula until November 25 in connection with the recommendation of the foreign Minister of the United Kingdom. Thus, on Tuesday, the airline extended the embargo on flights in this direction.
The A321 aircraft to the Russian airline “Kogalymavia” carrying out flight Sharm El-Sheikh to St Petersburg, crashed on 31 October after about half an hour after departure. The wreckage was found about 100 km to the South from the administrative centre of province Northern Sinai city of El Arish, near the settlement of El Hasna. In total the plane was 217 passengers and seven crew members, none survived. Most of the dead were Russians.
