Moscow. November 25. The reduction of tourism from Russia to Turkey will turn to the Turkish tourist business losses of hundreds of millions of dollars, and reorientation on other markets will take at least six months, which would be problematic for the summer season, says head of Department of management in the hospitality industry of the Institute of sectoral management, Ranepa Irina Goncharova.
“The order of numbers for expected losses Turkey – hundreds of millions of dollars. Russian tourists leaving to Turkey annually about $ 3 billion. It’s all expenses: airfare, stay, meals, Souvenirs, other purchases, which make tourists,” – said Goncharov on Wednesday.
According to experts, the economic damage will be very significant for Turkey. “It will be very sensitive, since tourism is one of the main items of income in Turkey. Suffice it to say that the Turkish resorts is one of the most popular outbound destinations among Russian tourists. Thus, this direction practically year-round. And in Turkish hotels staff should have as much English language as Turkish and Russian, as Turkey’s two main flood – tourists from Germany and Russia,” – said Goncharov.
Turkish tourism industry due to the actual loss of Russian customers will be forced to shift to other markets that will take at least six months, the expert believes.
“Reorientation on other markets will take place very slowly. It contracts under the reservations before the season starts. Must be also organized flights. All this is, I believe, not less than six months. How something will turn out, will show the major European tourism exhibition in January and next spring, which will present a program on the summer season. It is unlikely that Turkish business will be able to shift so quickly”, she said.
