Putin: Turkey’s attack on the su-24 is a “stab in the back” of the Russian Federation, it will have serious consequences
“This is done at a time when the understanding of the need to coordinate actions in the fight against ISIS (“Islamic state of Iraq and the Levant” – the former name is forbidden in the Russian Federation terrorist group), when France began to cooperate with Russia. I believe that it is possible that it was meaningful action in order to prevent the creation of a broad international coalition,” she said.
“We are waiting for explanations from Turkey, we are waiting for an apology, recognition of the illegality of the act, we expect Turkey redress of Russia and the families of our two fallen officers,” said Matvienko, adding that this crime will not be forgotten and will not go unpunished.
The establishment of an international Tribunal for crimes of terrorism
The creation of a broad anti-terrorist coalition is the main condition for the convening of an international Tribunal for crimes of terrorism, said the speaker of the Federation Council. According to Matvienko, the establishment of the Tribunal “not an easy process”, it requires serious legal study. “Furthermore, I believe that the most important condition for the creation of such a Tribunal should be the creation of an international coalition. I’m sure this time will come”, – said the head of the Federation Council.

Russian parliamentarians urged to declare terrorism a crime without term of limitation
Matviyenko also said that the senators will promote the idea of the Tribunal “at different venues”. “Those who committed crimes against humanity, against civilization, those who have their hands stained with blood from killing civilians, will bear his severe punishment”, – said Mironov. She added that foreign parliaments and international organizations should initiate such proposals, send them out to the UN, and the UN may not respond to such proposals. “But it will take time and great efforts”, – concluded the Chairman of the Federation Council.
The initiative to establish an international Tribunal for crimes of terrorism, the head of the Federation Council made on 20 November during the joint meeting of the two chambers of the Parliament dedicated to the fight against terrorism. “Together with our partners, we must work towards the establishment of an international Tribunal to severely punish terrorists and their accomplices who committed heinous crimes against humanity,” she said, adding that the establishment of the Tribunal “should be a decision of the UN Security Council to give effect to the Institute”, and he can act “on the basis of the UN”.
