Putin in Nizhny Tagil inspected a new Russian PD-14 engine


Based on the PD-14 will be developed a whole family of engines for different types of aircraft that would cheapen their production. For the first time a Russian engine has established a wide cooperation of the leading industrial enterprises and research institutes.

NIZHNY TAGIL, 25 Nov. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin during his working visit to Nizhny Tagil has inspected a new Russian PD-14 engine, which will be equipped with perspective Russian aircraft MS-21.

As told to the Russian President-General designer of JSC “Aviadvigatel” Alexander Inozemtsev, the last new domestic aircraft engine for civil aviation was developed 29 years ago.

In addition, Inozemtsev noted that based on the PD-14 will be developed a whole family of engines for different types of aircraft that would cheapen their production.

Head developer of the new generation engine is the Perm design Bureau Aviadvigatel, a leading manufacturer — “Perm engine company”. First time in the history of the domestic engine-building for the development and production of PD-14 established a wide cooperation of the leading industrial enterprises and research institutes.
