Food substitution from Turkey focuses on the issues of state support of domestic producers. In addition, Russia will rapidly look for a replacement Turkish goods.

MOSCOW, 26 Nov. Russia will find a replacement food from Turkey and at an accelerated pace to develop import substitution products, said agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev.

“It is clear that we can’t build in a day, even three years to get the full amount of the deficiency of vegetables that were imported on the import. But, nevertheless, the import substitution program, it will work at an accelerated pace,” — said Tkachev in interview to TV channel “Russia 24”.

According to him, this will include both the state support of producers, as well as the attention of the Department for the production of specific commodities. For example, the Russian Federation imports from Turkey about 50% of the total import of tomatoes.

He noted that, as with the situation of food embargo against the EU, Russia will find a replacement Turkey.

“Such country has, and today is, figuratively speaking, turn want to put in the country and citrus fruit, and vegetables and fruits and so on.
