South Korea has asked Volkswagen to retract a 125 thousand cars


Moscow. On 26 November. The South Korean authorities demanded that the German car manufacturer Volkswagen recalled more than 125 thousand cars with diesel engines, informs “bi-Bi-si”.

The decision was made by the South Korean Ministry of environment which claims that its experts conducted checks confirmed the manipulation of indicators of harmful emissions of engines in Volkswagen vehicles.

The Ministry also fined the company more than $12 million.

The Volkswagen scandal erupted in September 2015 after the Agency for environmental protection (EPA) of the USA has revealed that the company installed in its vehicles with diesel engines are computer programs that during inspections understate the indicators of harmful emissions. In total, the number of vehicles, subject to review, is more than 11 million

Meanwhile, the authorities of California on Wednesday announced that within 45 working days the German company must submit a plan of withdrawal of Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche 2009 model year and newer with a three-liter diesel engines. It is about 85 thousand cars, the cost of replacement which is estimated at 50 million euros.

In addition to the eponymous brand, the German automaker owned by Volkswagen passenger cars brand Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, Skoda, Ducati motorcycles, trucks MAN, Scania and Volkswagen Commercial.
