A specialized unit will be engaged in counteraction to crimes in the sphere of Internet in part of competence of the customs service, said the Deputy head of the FCS of Russia Ruslan Davydov. He noted that the subdivision will be before the end of 2015.
SOCHI, 26 Nov. Juliana Grebennikova. A special unit of the Federal customs service on counteraction to crimes in sphere the Internet-trade will be established in Russia until the end of 2015, told journalists the Deputy head of the FCS of Russia Ruslan Davydov.
He said that the European Union has created a special project group on combating Internet crimes. It is not only shipment and trade, this trading in drugs and weapons, what is called “dark Internet”.
“The Russian customs service also created a specialized unit to deal with crime in the Internet sector in terms of competence of the customs service”, — said Davydov, adding that the decision has already been made and the unit will open by the end of 2015 on the basis of head Department on fight against smuggling of the FCS.
According to him, customs officers are very actively cooperating with “Russian Post”. While the country has seen almost double growth of mail annually. In 2015 it will exceed 100 million postal items.
Sochi hosted the 21st meeting of heads of law enforcement divisions of customs services of the European region of the world customs organization.
