“Erdogan has confused”: the Turkish media about the incident with the su-24M and its implications
“Erdogan has usurped the right to some exclusivity to when he stated that if the Turkish plane is shot down over the territory of Syria, then this will be considered as an act of aggression. That is, it allowed Turkey, and Turkey itself will be without warning to shoot down any aircraft that, as it seems, will come to be in her airspace. I used to think that only one country claims to be so extraordinary, but he wasn’t,” said Lavrov.
According to him, the inadequacy of the bifurcated position of Erdogan in PE with the downed Turkish air force su-24 should be evident to all.
“He (Erdogan) said that the Turkish air force did not know it was Russian plane, and if I knew, I would have done differently. But then, in another speech, said, if suddenly someone once again violated the airspace of Turkey, will do the same as he entered. I hope that the inadequacy of such a bifurcated position is obvious to everybody,” said the Russian Minister.
Attack on Russian military aircraft
November 24, fighter from the Turkish air force F-16 shot down Russian bomber su-24M, which, according to Ankara, had violated the country’s airspace near the border with Syria.
The crew of a military aircraft managed to eject, but one of the two pilots was killed by ground fire. The second pilot was rescued. In search of the pilots was attended by two helicopters Mi-8. One of the cars came under fire and made an emergency landing. One marine soldier was killed.
In the Russian defense Ministry said the su-24M was extremely over Syrian territory, and that violations of its airspace was not.
Vladimir Putin warned that the attack on the bomber would have “serious consequences” for Russian-Turkish relations. According to the head of state, the Turkish air force attack on the Russian plane involved in anti-terrorist operations in Syria and posed a threat to Turkey, is a “stab in the back” of Russia.
“More and more questions about the true intentions of Ankara”
Lavrov also said that Russia is accumulating more and more questions about the real intentions of Ankara, including in the fight against terrorism.

“Act of aggression” Ankara: what has changed in relations between Russia and Turkey after the incident with the su-24M
“We have more and more questions about the true intentions of Ankara and the extent of its actual interest in the elimination of terrorism, particularly in Syria, and its interest in normalizing the situation in Syria,” – said the Minister.
Regional countries are the height of cynicism, claiming to be members of the coalition, but supporting terrorists, also said Lavrov.
“We consider it the height of hypocrisy to the situation when some countries (the neighbors of Syria) claim adherence to the decisions of the UN security Council, declare themselves members of the coalition, but actually lead the game in which the terrorists play the role of secret allies,” said Lavrov.
On the situation in Syria
The main task of external players – as soon as possible to make a list of terrorist organizations in Syria, also said Lavrov after the meeting with the foreign Minister of Syria Walid Muallem.

“Foreign players, particularly those included in “support Group of Syria”, should facilitate the establishment of such a dialogue (government and opposition). Their main task at this stage is early implementation of the decisions of the second Vienna meeting on November 14,” said the Minister.
“The decisions are to determine who is who. The first agreement – task to generate the list of terrorist organizations, which will be withdrawn from any political negotiations, who would not extend the ceasefire,” – said Lavrov.
No external commissions for the selection of candidates for the post of President of Syria cannot be, also said Lavrov.
“We have already spoken, and yesterday the President of Russia Vladimir Putin has confirmed that to solve the question of who will lead the Syrian government, only the Syrian people, the Minister said. – No external commissions for the selection of candidates who need to arrange a state cannot be just by definition”.
