The head of VTB declared that doesn’t consider themselves close friends of Putin

The head of VTB Andrey Kostin said that he knows Vladimir Putin about 17 years. He noted that the President is very realistic in understanding the role of Russia and want Russia to become powerful, influential and respected country.

MOSCOW, Nov 27. The head of VTB Andrey Kostin in an interview to TV channel Bloomberg TV said that does not belong to the closest friends of Russian President Vladimir Putin and maintains a decent relationship with him.

“I am not among his friends from St. Petersburg, I’m a Muscovite, but I’ve known him for about 17 years. In Russia, when you lead one of the largest banks, you meet with the President from time to time. I mean, he knows me very well, and I know him well. My relationship is limited to what I do — the discussion of much broader issues — the economy, the banking sector”, — said Kostin.

Kostin added that he considers Putin the man “who really loves Russia, he is a real patriot of Russia”.

“He really wants to see Russia become strong from an economic point of view,” said Kostin.

He noted that the President is very realistic in understanding the role of Russia and want Russia to become powerful, influential and respected country.
