Turkey cut exports to Russia for 10 months of 39%


MOSCOW, November 30. The export of Turkish goods to Russia in January-October fell by 38.9 per cent compared with the same period a year earlier to $3,065 billion this is stated in the materials of the Institute of statistics of Turkey.

Only in October in annual terms, exports of goods from Turkey to Russia decreased by 27.3% to $354,8 million At the same time Russia is on the 9th place in terms of exports since the beginning of the year. In the first place is Germany, followed by great Britain, Iraq, Italy, Switzerland, France, USA and Spain.

On import of the Russian products take the third place after China and Germany. The import of goods to Turkey from the Russian Federation for 10 months in annual terms fell by 17.8% to $17,34 billion, and for October in annual terms, the decline amounted to 12.4% to $1.52 billion

Russia will impose restrictions against Turkey and will freeze a number of joint projects in response to the attack on the Russian plane su-24M. About this at the government meeting on 26 November, said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

According to the Ministry of agriculture, for the first 10 months of 2015 the import of agricultural products and food from Turkey in value terms amounted to us $1.035 billion, 21.2% less than in the same period of 2014.

On 28 November the President of Russia Vladimir Putin has signed the decree about application of special economic measures against Turkey.

One of the points of the decree was the prohibition or restriction on the importation into Russia of certain goods from Turkey according to the list determined by the government of the Russian Federation.

On the territory of the Russian Federation temporarily introduced a “ban or restriction on foreign economic operations involving the import to the territory of the Russian Federation separate kinds of the goods, the country of origin which is the Republic of Turkey, on a list established by the Government of the Russian Federation (except goods imported for personal use to the extent permitted by law of the Eurasian economic Union),” according to the decree “On measures for safeguarding national security of the Russian Federation and protecting Russian citizens from criminal and other unlawful acts and on application of special economic measures against the Turkish Republic.”
