KIEV, December 3. Ukraine in 2016 will impose duties on imports of Russian cars. “The interagency Commission for international trade of Ukraine adopted a decision to impose countervailing duties on Russian cars in the amount of 10,41-17,66% for a period of five years commencing from 3 January 2016”, – said the Commission.
According to her, the cars produced by “Sollers – far East” fees will account for 17,66% of the customs value of the goods, vehicles of JSC “AVTOVAZ” – 14.57 percent, for cars of other Russian manufacturers – 10,41%.
As the Commission notes, on machines without a certificate of origin or in case of impossibility of definition of the manufacturer will apply the fee in the amount of 17,66%.
Duties will be levied on passenger cars designed to carry not more than eight passengers. Countervailing duties cannot be applied to Golf cars, snowmobiles and cars, equipped for temporary accommodation of people.
In September, the Interdepartmental Commission on international trade adopted a decision to abolish the special measures regarding imports of passenger cars regardless of country of origin and export, which operated from April 2013.
Russia was the leader by import of cars to the Ukrainian market. Deliveries to have declined in recent years, in particular due to the introduction of special duties and utilization fee.
According to the Association “Ukrautoprom”, the import of passenger cars in Ukraine in 2014 compared with 2013 decreased by 64%. Last year, the country imported 146,5 thousand vehicles customs value of which amounted to more than $1.6 billion.
