MOSCOW, December 4. The Association “League of assistance for defense enterprises” (LSOP) sent a letter to the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin with a request to rename the alley of the capital, where is located the Embassy of Turkey in honor of Oleg Peshkov – deceased commander of the su-24 bomber, shot down Turkish military aircraft over Syria. About this informed the head of the League, first Deputy Chairman of state Duma Committee on industry Vladimir Gutenev.

“In my address received a petition Bureau member of the League of Alexey Aleshin of perpetuating the memory of the commander of the downed Turkish fighter jet in Syria bomber su-24M of Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Peshkov and the renaming of the 7th Rostovsky pereulok Moscow in honor of the Hero of Russia, pilot Peshkov. The majority of the Bureau members of the League supported this proposal,” – said Gutenev. According to him, “the corresponding letter addressed to the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin has already been sent”.

In the text of the appeal, a copy of which is available, LSOP asks Sobyanin “to consider recommending to the City interdepartmental Commission on the name of territorial units, streets, subway stations, organizations and other Moscow facilities to rename the 7-th Rostovsky lane, Moscow, hosts the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, in honor of the Hero of Russia Colonel A. Peshkov, O., who died November 24, 2015, from the forces of the Turkish air force in the area of the Syrian – Turkish border, with the subsequent installation of a memorial plaque, bust or monument”.

The Association “League of assistance for defense enterprises” currently unites more than 200 holding companies, corporations and enterprises, including JSC “Rosoboronexport”, JSC “United shipbuilding Corporation”, JSC “United aircraft Corporation”, JSC “Corporation “Uralvagonzavod”, JSC “East Kazakhstan region the Concern “Almaz – Antey”, the Association of technical universities.
