Moscow. December 7. MD Medical Group (MDMG), which owns a network of clinics “Mother and child”, will acquire 100% ArtMedGroup (AMG) that manages a network of centres of reproductive medicine in Siberia.
The deal amounted to 485 million rubles, its closure plan in January, after obtaining approval of the FAS, said MDMG.
The total area of the clinics AMG is 3.4 thousand square meters, revenue in 2014 – 395 million.
AMG is in the top 5 largest private medical companies in Russia on volumes of cycles of IVF (in vitro fertilization) and is the leader in this segment in Siberia. The network includes 4 centers in the largest cities of Siberia: Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Novosibirsk and Barnaul, with a total population of 4.3 million inhabitants, which is about a quarter of the total population of the Siberian Federal district. In SFD there are high fertility rates: in 2014 in the district were born more than 283 thousand children, while the birth rate per thousand people was 14.7, which is higher than the average in Russia and in Moscow and 13.3 and 11.4, respectively.
As a result of the transaction MDMG will be released to the market several new areas with attractive demographics, said principal owner of the company mark Kurtser.
MDMG, controlled by the former chief obstetrician-gynecologist of Moscow Kurtser (held this position in 2003-2013), in October 2012 completed an IPO in London, which attracted $289 million of the company’s Free float amounted to 32.1%.
The MDMG’s revenue in 2014 increased by 27%, to 7.2 billion rubles, EBITDA – on 31%, to 2.08 billion, EBITDA margin was 29%. Net income last year was $ 1.32 billion, which is 73% higher than a year earlier.
The company comprises 23 medical facilities, including 4 hospitals and 19 outpatient clinics in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ufa, Perm, Samara and Samara region, Irkutsk, Yaroslavl, Novosibirsk and Ryazan. In addition, three franchised clinics are located in Kiev.
