The development of all discoveries of oil on the Arctic shelf will allow by 2030 to produce 18 million tons of oil, amounting to only 3.5% of the total volume of oil production in Russia, said Director of science of Institute of oil and gas Russian Academy of Sciences Vasily Bogoyavlensky at the V International forum “Arctic: Present and future”.
“In the near future the Arctic shelf oil-we can’t do much. If you start developing all the open fields, by 2030 we will reach 18 million tons, this is a very small percentage of our oil production, 3.5% of our oil production”, — he said.
