The Japanese Commission for the supervision of securities and exchanges (Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission, SESC) may be fined Toshiba Corp. a record controller for the amount of value of 7, 37 billion yen ($60 million) for publishing false information about the revenue for several years, reports Bloomberg.
It is noted that Toshiba had reserved on account of the possible penalty of 8.4 billion yen. According to informed sources, the regulator is also considering the possibility of prosecuting former heads of Japanese companies.
As previously reported, because of errors in reporting the profit of the company for 2008 to 2014 was reduced in total by $1.9 billion, its market capitalization collapsed on this news almost 40%.
