The U.S. and Cuba on Tuesday to start negotiations on property

Moscow. December 8. The U.S. and Cuba begin Tuesday in Havana intergovernmental negotiations on a wide range of issues, including on the subject of expropriations of property of American companies and citizens following the Cuban revolution, informs TV channel “Marty” running from the U.S. to Cuba.

According to him, after the revolution of property in Cuba has lost more than 6 thousand American citizens and companies, including Coca-Cola, ExxonMobil, and Texaco. Inflation-the claim by the US against Cuba could reach $8 billion.

The former head of the Commission for the settlement of claims abroad with the U.S. Department of justice Mauricio Tamargo stated that this meeting is of great importance for relations between Cuba and the United States.

“The Cuban government still has never recognized claims (from the US) and refused to discuss them. This has not happened throughout the 56 years since the Cuban revolution and the confiscation of American property”, – quotes “Marty” the words of Tamargo.

At the meeting in Havana will not raise issues related to the property of Cubans who had moved after the revolution in the United States, said “Marty”.
