Moscow. December 9. “AvtoVAZ” from the 15th of February 2016 can go on 4-day workweek, said the head of the official trade Union of the company Sergey Zaitsev.
“Yesterday we considered the draft order at a meeting of the trade Union Committee. We agreed with some suggestions to the administration (the management of “AVTOVAZ”) in the framework of the collective agreement,” – said Zaitsev.
He noted that after the introduction of the 4-day work week employees ‘ salaries may be reduced by about 20%. However, this measure will allow to avoid large-scale redundancies – by law, during the period of validity of a mode of a shorter working week can not hold them.
“In these conditions it is better to sacrifice a little than to be unemployed. Due to the fact that production volumes for 2016 are planned not higher than in 2015, some of the employees will be not claimed. So they will either have to reduce or move in this mode of operation,” said hare, adding that by law the maximum period can be set shorter working week is 6 months.
The Board of Directors of “AVTOVAZ” on November 30 discussed the main directions on improvement of the company and its adaptation to current market conditions. To such measures in the company include optimization of production lines, the social program of support of voluntary retirement, as well as periodic introduction of special conditions of work (for example, 4-day week, social work).
It was also reported that the number of employees of “AVTOVAZ” at the end of September 2015 was $ 50,988 thousand people, which is 15% less than at the end of September 2014. Currently the company has an order to dismiss the employees by agreement of the parties. “AvtoVAZ” reduces staff numbers by freeing pensioners and people who violate labor discipline.
