MOSCOW, 9 Dec. The Russian government hopes to reduce inflation in 2016 to 6.4% and reach the growth path of the economy, said Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in an interview with Russian TV channels.
“I think that this forecast, this scenario is quite realistic, and we really will be able to two times to reduce inflation, in fact, to 6.4%, as expected,” Medvedev said, answering the question about the realism of achievement of target indicators of the Russian budget for 2016. He explained that this assessment comes from the current forecast.
The Prime Minister added that his estimates are based on the fact that inflation in Russia has almost stopped.
“You know that the last few months inflation has almost stopped. Second, we are able to reach the path, maybe not strong, but definite growth of the economy”,- said Medvedev.
