So the Russian Prime Minister in an interview with Russian media commented on the words of the Finance Minister Siluanov about the exhaustion of the Reserve Fund.
MOSCOW, 9 Dec. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev commented on the words of the head of the Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov about the exhaustion of the Reserve Fund, noting that “to whip up fears and exaggerate” — this is his task.
“The task of the Ministry of Finance, to a certain extent, to whip up fears and exaggerate. I directly say it. Why? Because if not, the Ministry of Finance does, then no one else will. The Ministry of Finance is the final frontier, so any Minister of Finance, whatever was his name, he is obliged always to dramatize the situation. And rightly so,” Medvedev said during the conversation with journalists at year-end, answering the question of the possible exhaustion of the Reserve Fund.
“We created it in order in such a situation now, spend, and not just sit there and say, “Yes, it’s hard, but spending will not” — said the head of government.
