Moscow. December 9. Roskomnadzor suggests to block pirate resources on mobile devices and pirated content in the app stores, said the head of Department, Alexander Zharov at the meeting on the topic of improving anti-piracy legislation.
“It is necessary to provide a lock of pirate resources, including, on mobile resources. Technical features of mobile versions of resources in certain cases allow you to bypass the blocking of pirate websites,” he said.
He proposed to create working group which will develop proposals to block pirated content on mobile devices.
Also Zharov proposed to establish another working group that will study the issue of the fight against pirated content in app stores. “In GooglePlay, the AppStore may be a application which will contain compromised content. I propose to create a working group that would study the issue, and in February will discuss the results,” he said.
Head of legal Department of SR’s Boris Edidin, who will lead the second of these groups, noted that pirated resources are increasingly being used new ways to distribute content via the app.
He also outlined a number of issues related to the effectiveness of anti-piracy legislation. So, in his opinion, there are difficulties with the protection of broadcasts that have the copyright owner (the rights to broadcast). “We need preventive technical and legal protection of broadcast”, – he said.
In addition, according to Edidin, it is necessary to develop measures to counter the propaganda of how to bypass the blocking, which lead the pirates.
