MOSCOW, 9 Dec. The Federation Council on Wednesday approved a government law to increase from 1 January 2016 the minimum wage (SMIC) in Russia, 4% to 6 204 thousand rubles.
In 2015, the minimum wage is 5965 rubles per month.
Raising the minimum wage will affect about 700 thousand employees in 2016, of which 43% of employees employed in state and municipal institutions, and 57% of workers of real sector of economy.
The ratio of the minimum wage with the predicted value of the subsistence minimum of the able-bodied population is estimated at 53.6%. —0-
