St. PETERSBURG, 10 Dec. Extraction of lead-zinc ore deposits of “Pavlovsk” in a New Land is scheduled to begin in 2019, said at the forum “Arctic: present and future” Governor of Arkhangelsk region Igor Orlov.
“Project “Pavlovsk” will be implemented “First mining company”, member of the management loop of Rosatom. The company has completed a complex of exploration activities and currently we are in the final stages for the design of the GOK. Lead-zinc ore is planned to start mining in 2019,” — said Orlov.
On the eagles forum, said that in March this year, the government of the Arkhangelsk region and JSC “Atomredmetzoloto” signed an agreement on cooperation in the project “Pavlovo”. The main objects of construction of the plant will be quarry, mining processing plant, camp accommodation for 500 people, warehousing.
In 2019 after reaching the design capacity of the mine will take the second place among Russian manufacturers (220 thousand tons of zinc concentrate, 50 tons of lead concentrate and 16 tons of silver per year). Annual extraction of ore at the Pavlovsk Deposit in 2034 will be 1.5-2 million tons.
According to Orlov, the total reserves of zinc at the Deposit are 1.97 million tons, lead – 0,45 million tons. The associated component determined silver. Inferred resources amount to over 16 million tonnes of zinc and three million tons of lead.
“The government of the Arkhangelsk region certainly supports this initiative of “Rosatom” as meeting the strategic interests of Russia in the Arctic”, — said the head of the region.
