MOSCOW, 11 Dec. The delegation of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation headed by the Chairman of the upper house of Parliament Valentina Matviyenko will pay a two-day visit to Ashgabat to participate in the events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Neutrality of Turkmenistan.
The program of the visit includes a meeting Matvienko and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
There will also be a meeting with Chairman of Majlis of the Republic of accoi Nurberdyeva. The sides plan to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation of States and business contacts of the regions, expansion of inter-parliamentary relations and interaction on international platforms, in particular the UN. Following the meeting will be signed an Agreement on cooperation between the Federation Council and the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
In the framework of solemn events Matviyenko will speak at the international conference “Politics of neutrality: international cooperation for peace, security and development”. Russian Federation is one of the main sponsors of the draft Resolution of the UN General Assembly “On the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan” adopted on 12 December 1995.
During the visit to Ashgabat, the senators intend to attend secondary school. A. S. Pushkin, which is open to 11-year-old Russian training program. Now the school has 950 students. Cultural-humanitarian and scientific cooperation is one of the leading areas of cooperation between Russia and Turkmenistan.
