Matviyenko at the conference on neutrality encouraged to develop measures against terrorism

The speaker of Council of Federation Valentina Matvienko urged the participants of the international conference “Politics of neutrality: international cooperation for peace, security and development” to the development of measures to prevent the financing of terrorism. She stated this during his speech at the event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan.

According to the Senator, “following the Middle East in the crosshairs of terrorist organizations, strengthening its position in Afghanistan and Central Asia” because the terrorists – “to postpone its expansion to new regions”.

Matvienko also recalled that Russia put forward an initiative to establish a broad international coalition against terrorism under the auspices of the UN. “The time itself dictates the need to consolidate efforts against terrorism,” he said. “We urge to develop measures to prevent the financing, supply by the weapon of hate activity and in the future to negotiate an international lawsuit over the terrorists and their accomplices by type of Nuremberg, to continue this never happens again”, – said the head of the Federation Council.

The delegation of the Federation Council headed by Chairman of the house arrived yesterday in Ashgabat to participate in celebrations on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan. On Friday Valentine Matvienko has held a meeting with President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the speaker of Parliament, accoi Nurberdyeva. The parties signed an agreement on cooperation between the Federation Council and the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
