BEIJING, December 13. /Corr. Andrey Kirillov/. Issues related to development of trade-economic and humanitarian cooperation within the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO) with regard to global politics and Economics will be discussed at the upcoming December 15 meeting of the Council of heads of government of the SCO in Zhengzhou (Henan, Central China). This was reported in an interview with TASS, the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation on the SCO Affairs, national coordinator of the Russian Federation in this organization Bakhtiyor Khakimov.
He participated in held in Beijing from 10 to 12 December meeting of the Council of national coordinators of SCO member States, which was devoted, in his words, “fine-tuning the content of the meeting of heads of government”, the negotiated outcome and the number of decisions to be taken and be signed by the heads of governments of States-SCO members.
The theme of the forthcoming meeting
The theme of the meeting of the Council of heads of government of the SCO will be traditional, said Hakimov, “it focuses on priority issues related to the development of trade-economic and humanitarian cooperation, taking into account those events that take place in global politics and Economics”.
Putin called for the establishment of economic partnership of the countries of the EEU, the SCO and ASEAN
“Of course, the SCO cannot stay away from what is happening in the world, and the heads of governments intend to compare notes, to study, to consider adequate steps to respond to these challenges and emerging opportunities,” he said.
“Special attention will be paid to practical implementation of the outcomes of the Ufa summit of the SCO. A priority issue is to develop a kind of road map in order to perform tasks and installations, which recorded the heads of state in the fundamental conceptual document, which defines tendencies of development and evolution of the SCO until 2025,” said Khakimov.
Economic cooperation and humanitarian ties
“It is clear that specific attention will again be paid to the topic of economic cooperation and humanitarian ties. I think that heads of government will not bypass attention the topic of regional economic integration, those processes in the Eurasian space, he said. – You know well about the Eurasian integration within the customs Union, advocated by Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. But there are other initiatives. The topics that are on the agenda in bilateral and multilateral formats: a partnership in various configurations, close ties, a free trade zone and so on. We advocate that these processes were open, complementary, take into account the interests of all participants of economic relations and do not undermine the system that has developed over many years under the auspices of the world trade organization”.
“From this point of view, the heads of government, I assume, will be to exchange views, in a contracted format, and extended, so as to connect the representatives of the observer States (in the SCO). So I think that discussion would be very interesting, fruitful and, most importantly, results-oriented,” concluded Bakhtiyor Khakimov.
Member States of the SCO are Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
