The head of Russian foreign Ministry Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry during the call reiterated the importance of adhering to the principle of consensus in MGPS and participation in meetings of all its members, said the Russian foreign Ministry.
MOSCOW, Dec 14. The head of Russian foreign Ministry Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry ahead of his visit to Moscow the head of American diplomacy had a phone conversation during which “compared notes” on major issues of the joint agenda, according to Russian foreign Ministry.
“In anticipation of the upcoming December 15th the visit of the head of the American foreign Ministry in Moscow was held a “comparing notes” on major issues of the joint agenda. The parties confirmed that the convening of a new meeting of the International support group Syria (MGPS) necessary to enforce its decisions of 14 November, providing for the preparation of a special envoy of UN Secretary General Stefan de Mistura proposals on the composition of the delegation of the Syrian opposition for talks with the Syrian government, as well as the approval of the list of terrorist groups, against which should fight together”, — stated in the message on the website of the Russian foreign Ministry.
