Moscow. December 14. The Board of governors of the EBRD approved the request of the Chinese authorities to enter China in the shareholders of the Bank.
“China’s membership will open up new significant opportunities for Chinese investments in the regions where the EBRD”, – said the head of the Bank Scrip Chakrabati, quoted in the message of the EBRD.
Earlier sources Financial Times reported that China will invest a nominal amount to the EBRD, “only to say that they are the shareholder.” In the Bank the question of China’s contribution to the EBRD capital is not affected.
Currently the members of the EBRD are 64 countries with developed and developing economies.
