Apple has opened a production laboratory in Taiwan to develop displays


Moscow. December 15. American Apple Inc. has opened a production laboratory in Northern Taiwan, is engaged in the development of new technologies for displays, reports Bloomberg citing informed sources.

According to sources, in the laboratory, located in the city Longtan works not less than 50 employees, including engineers, creating new displays for iPhone and iPad. Among the employees of a Taiwanese lab the Apple specialists local company AU Optronics Corp., engaged in the manufacture of displays, and Qualcomm Inc.

Apple strives to create displays that are more thin, light, bright and energy efficient than the current one. Taiwanese engineers are developing more advanced versions of liquid crystal displays used in iPhone, iPad and Mac computers, the Agency said.

Working on own technology in the production of displays that Apple may reduce its dependence on technology suppliers, including Samsung Electronics, LG Display and Japan Display, analysts said.

Thus, in their opinion, if you have your own technology, Apple could attract as producers of the Taiwanese company Innolux or AU Optronics Corp.

Shares of AU Optronics in trading in Taipei on Tuesday rose by 7%, Innolux by 2.6%. The cost of papers Japan Display fell 3.9%.
