TOGLIATTI, 15 Dec. The largest Russian producer of cars “AVTOVAZ” has started serial production of the new urban crossover Lada Xray, the correspondent. The first car of the brown color was produced and presented to the public at 11.30 GMT.
Serial production of car Lada Xray was launched at the production site in Togliatti. The first car of a new model equipped with a manual transmission and the engine of 1.6 liters, came off the production line on the platform B0.
The start of sales of Lada XRAY is scheduled for February 2016. Earlier, the head of AVTOVAZ Bo Andersson reported that the minimum price of the car may be about 600 thousand rubles. The final cost of the new plant has not been determined.
Lada Xray became the second novelty of AVTOVAZ this year. The production of sedan Lada Vesta launched on 25 September in Izhevsk. The level of localization of production of the new crossover is now about 50% but for the year it is planned to increase to 71%.
