The FSB chief called for stricter liability for participation in terrorism


MOSCOW, December 15. The FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov considers it necessary to review the legislation to further toughen the penalties for participating in terrorist activities. He said this at a joint meeting of the National antiterrorist Committee (NAC) and the Federal operative headquarters, where he summed up the work for the year 2015 and defined priority areas for the coming year.

“As additional measures I consider necessary, together with lawmakers more time to carefully analyze the existing regulatory framework with a view to its adjustment in the direction of tightening criminal liability for participation in terrorist activities”, – said the head of the FSB.

He recalled that just this year in the field of counter-terrorism adopted five Federal laws, two presidential decree, the ten orders and eleven orders of the government.
