Lavrov: Russia and Bahrain are discussing the simplification of visa procedures for businessmen of the two countries


MOSCOW, December 16. Russia and Bahrain have agreed to continue efforts to simplify the visa regime, especially for businessmen of the two countries. This was stated by Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov following talks with Bahraini counterpart Khalid bin Ahmed al Khalifa.

“Today was signed the agreement on transfer of persons sentenced to deprivation of liberty. This took place prior to our meeting with the Minister, the Ministry of justice, – said Lavrov. – We have just signed an agreement on the waiver of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, service and special passports. At the suggestion of our friends, agreed to continue efforts to simplify the visa regime, especially for businessmen of the two countries”.

Plans for cooperation between the two countries

Russia expects that the backlog in collaboration with Bahrain’s energy and banking will be translated into practice.

Russia and Bahrain will contribute to the development of cooperation of Gazprom with the business circles of the Kingdom, Lavrov said.

The agreement on investment protection

According to the diplomat, the agreement on military-technical cooperation with Bahrain is in the final stages of ratification.
