Moscow. December 16. The creation of alternative WTO trading platforms contrary to the spirit of free trade, believes the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
“Now developing a number of ideas that are associated with that, in fact, to break the existing trade regimes and derive a number of States in a privileged position while other members of the WTO, even such large ones as China and Russia, will remain in the other positions. I think this is bad,” he said during the meeting with heads of the Russian and Chinese IT companies.
According to Medvedev, “it is in principle not consistent with the spirit of universal trade venues, including electronic”.
Speaking about various regional trade partnerships, such as, in particular, Pacific partnership, the Russian Prime Minister said: “We are ready to consider any questions about participation in various partnerships, but so far we have not name, the question arises how these trade regimes will operate and whether the additional legal obstacle to the development of the universal electronic services.”
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev during his state visit to China on Wednesday 17th December has arrived in Beijing, where he will participate in the 20th regular meeting of the heads of governments of the two countries.
