MOSCOW, 16 Dec. First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov during the visit to Hanoi agreed on the final draft agreement on free trade Zone with the EEU Vietnam before its ratification, it will provide the possibility of Russian companies industrial Assembly of motor vehicles in this country, said one of the participants of the meeting of the intergovernmental Commission of the two countries.
“The final draft of the agreement on free trade Zone with the EEU Vietnam agreed. The total agreement will provide for the possibility of Russian companies industrial Assembly of motor vehicles in this country. We are talking about industrial Assembly of Russian trucks and light commercial vehicles for further supplies for both the local market and for re-export to third countries”, — said the Agency interlocutor.
The agreement on industrial Assembly of cars is part of a package of documents on the FTA with Vietnam, which was signed in may. As noted earlier, the Minister for trade of the EEC Andrey Slepnev, almost all Russian brands plan to enter the Vietnamese market — GAZ, KAMAZ, UAZ, AVTOVAZ, as well as Belarusian MAZ.
The source added that during the meeting with President Truong tan Sang and co-chair of the intergovernmental Commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation Igor Shuvalov discussed a number of projects — the construction of the Russian-Vietnamese TPP “long Fu-1”, joint airlines, the nuclear power plant “Ninh Thuan-1”.
The interlocutor of the Agency stressed that the FTA with Vietnam to the EEU opens up great opportunities, because the country is a party to the TRANS-Pacific partnership (TPP). In addition, the agenda of the SCO is actively filled with economic issues. Also being considered to establish an FTA with Iran and Israel.
According to a participant of the meeting, “this work significantly narrows the possibility to isolate Russia and its partners in trade and industrial cooperation in South and South-East Asia”.
